a go bag by the door for spontaneous club nights... overkill?

so a mate of mine has a "go bag" permanently packed and sitting by the front door in case they get a last minute message about a club night or a takeover and need to leave in an hour. clean play kit, condoms, lube, wipes, change of underwear, deodorant, hair stuff, phone chargers, basically everything weve been talking about in a small holdall ready to grab... is this genius or overkill. i can see the appeal but my wife thinks its tempting fate having a bag by the door that anyone could open. how do you handle the spontaneous side of things — are you a "always ready" couple or do you faff for an hour every time...
