anyone done the curtain in the middle of the room thing... how does it actually work

F41 / M44, married 16 years, lifestyle since 2021. we've always been "kind of same room kind of separate" depending on the night and our regulars know we're flexible. a couple we played with twice in denver mentioned they do "divided same room" with literally a curtain hanging from the ceiling in their playroom. half on one side, half on the other. you can hear everything, you can technically peek if you want, but you're not visually in each other's space. i was honestly fascinated. it sounds like the actual perfect middle ground for us, but i have so many questions before we try setting one up at home or asking about it at a party. like... do you both still feel like you're playing together or does it just become separate rooms with thinner walls. is the peeking thing a feature or does it become weird (one couple wants to look, the other doesnt, awkward). do you talk through the curtain. what kind of curtain even works for this, like a real opaque one or a sheer one. i dont want to set this up and have everyone feel like they're at a yoga studio lol. anyone who actually does this regularly... how did you arrive at it and what did you wish you knew
