bank holidays and the long weekend trick in the LS

so we've started using bank holiday weekends as our main LS travel slots and honestly its been a game changer... easter, may bank, august bank, all 3 days off means u can drive somewhere on the fri night, play sat, lazy sun, lazy mon, home for tues. less rushed than a normal weekend, less expensive than booking holiday days. anyone else cottoned on to this or are we just slow? the may double bank in 2023 was the best LS weekend we've ever had... cottage in the lakes, 2 couples, no rush. wondering if this is a known thing or were we just lucky
