beltane play, are we the only ones who actually mean the ritual bit

right so me n my partner are practicing pagans, hedgewitch leaning, n our beltane this yr was supposed to be a small gathering w 2 other couples for a ritual followed by, well, the traditional energy of the festival lol... 2 of the couples were lovely but treated the ritual bit as a kind of cute novelty before the play, n my partner was actually a bit hurt bc for us it's genuinely spiritual... is there a way to find ls couples who actually believe in the ritual rather than just doing it for the aesthetic? we dont want to be witchy gatekeepers but we also dont want our sabbat to feel like a themed sex party... anyone in oz or uk navigating this
