cash requests in LS dms... how is this still happening in 2026...

right ive had THREE separate "couples" in the last month dm me asking for money. one wanted "petrol money to drive to the meet", one wanted us to "send a small deposit to confirm were serious", one had a whole sob story about her sick mum and could we paypal £150... i mean obviously i blocked all of them, but how is this still working on enough people that they keep trying? has anyone here ever ACTUALLY sent money to a lifestyle contact and what happened... im in birmingham btw and starting to wonder if these are bots or just opportunistic chancers
