close LS friends got into legal trouble — how do u support without exposing the LS link

this is going to be vague for obvious reasons. couple we're very close with in the LS got hit with sumthin serious legally (not LS related but their public image is taking a hit and the press got hold of it). we want to be there for them but everyone we'd normally call on for support — other LS friends — its complicated because nobody wants to be seen publicly associated. how do u rally around mates when ur entire friend group has reasons to stay anonymous? feels like we're failing them by being cautious
