cottage weekend totally fell flat by day 2 because chemistry just wasnt there

feel a bit gutted writing this. we booked a really lovely cottage in the wicklow hills with another couple wed met twice before, drinks both times, both meets had been brilliant, lots of flirting, the works. they were keen, we were keen, weekend was finally happening. friday night arrived, lovely dinner, good wine, started getting close on the sofa and... nothing. just nothing. the spark we had at the bar three weeks ago just wasnt translating to the bedroom. we tried saturday too after a walk and pub lunch, still nothing, and by sunday everyone was just sort of pretending to have a good time. nobody did anything wrong, we still like them as people. but how do you handle this in the moment without making it a massive thing. and is there any way to predict it from drinks meets, because i was so sure
