couple agreed SOFT and mid-play the guy went for PIV with my wife — wtf do you do

this happened sat night and im still pissed. we met a couple at a house party we've seen 2-3 times before. agreed clearly beforehand soft only, same room, no PIV. things were going great then i look over and dudes pulling a condom out of nowhere and going for it. my wife froze and then pushed him off and said "we said soft" and he kinda laughed like it was a misunderstanding. we left within 10 min. now she's shaken, im furious, and im trying to figure out if this was him testing or him actually thinking it was fine. has this happened to anyone else and how did u handle the aftermath both with ur partner AND with that couple
