dental dams in oral on women — does ANYONE actually use them or is it a unicorn safety thing

reading all the safety threads ppl mention dental dams for oral on women but ive been in the LS 3 yrs now and ive literally never seen one IRL. never had a partner offer, never offered one myself, never seen one at a club party setup. F36 H39. is this a thing ppl do in theory and not in practice? am i missing out on a safer practice that actually exists in the wild? i sometimes feel weird that we just kinda accept oral as a "lower risk" act without any barrier when statistically chlamydia/gonorrhea/hpv DO transmit thru oral. wanna hear from ppl who actually use them — where do u even buy them, do u make them from a condom (ive heard u can?), is it as awkward as it sounds, does it ruin the experience completely or do u get used to it
