Desire RM vs Pearl — which one is actually better for first-timers who want to play

ok i know this gets asked every other week on reddit but i want real answers from people who've done both, not just "RM is the og". were looking at april 2026 for our first Desire trip and the prices between the two properties are close enough that the difference doesnt really decide it for us. couple mid 40s, been in the scene about 5 years, done a Bliss takeover last year (loved it but felt the boat was a lot). we're soft swap mostly, full swap with people we click with, not into the BDSM stuff that some of the playrooms lean into. we want a chill but sexy week, good food, easy to meet people, not so big that we get lost. ive heard RM is smaller more intimate, Pearl is newer fancier rooms. ive also heard RM has the legendary playroom and Pearl's play space is kinda meh. but ive also heard the crowd at Pearl skews younger and more international and at RM skews more US repeat customers. idk what to believe. specifically — for a couple thats not super outgoing, where do you make friends easier? where is the staff better? where does the play actually happen at night (like the playroom vs the lobby vs the pool)? and is one of them noticeably more "vanilla couples sneaking in to gawk" which honestly is the energy i least want. tldr we want to maximize chance of a great first Desire trip and pick the right property. help a brother out.
