documentary recs (netflix, bbc, abc, sbs, whatever) on the lifestyle that arent voyeuristic or condescending
so were a couple in our late thirties, been in the LS about 3 yrs, and we've been trying to find documentaries to watch together that show this lifestyle without the usual two angles — either the leering "look at the weird sex people" angle or the morality-tale "and then it all fell apart" angle. weve seen most of what netflix has, weve seen the bbc stuff that occasionally creeps in around the edges of "modern relationships" series, weve seen the channel 4 one from a few yrs back, weve seen the aussie sbs piece i think it was. some are ok. most feel like they were made by someone who has never sat in a hot tub with another couple in their life. is there anything genuinely good — feature length, series, short — that came out in the last 5 yrs that takes the lifestyle seriously without making it a freakshow or a cautionary tale. and what specifically about it landed for u
