doing a road trip ls style around the lake district playing in b&bs is this mad

so the missus had this idea for our anniversary, two weeks driving from manchester up through the lake district then over to the scottish highlands, just us, but with the option of meeting up with couples along the way if we vibe with anyone on here. shes never been one for organised swinger holidays at resorts, she likes the spontaneity. but im wondering about the practicalities. like... can you actually play in a small b&b in keswick without the landlady knowing. and motorway travelodges, are they fine because nobody cares or are they thin walled hell. weve done hotel stuff in london and manchester before but not in tiny villages where the b&b owner basically lives in the same building. anyone done a properly nomadic ls road trip in the uk and got intel on which kinds of places work
