drunk play partner became a different person mid play, what now

something happened a couple of weeks ago thats still bothering me. soft swap night with another couple weve known for a few months, all going lovely, then about an hour in the other guy who'd been drinking steadily since we arrived just... changed. not aggressive but a sort of glazed, less present version of himself, started saying things he wouldnt normally say sober, getting handsier than wed agreed. we ended things cleanly, his partner was great, we all hugged it out the next morning. but i havent been able to shake how quickly he went from "him" to "not him". do you ever play with him again? do you say something? has anyone navigated this without burning the friendship...
