eyes wide shut... what did kubrick actually get right rewatched it last night with my husband over a bottle of red and we both ended up arguing about it til 2am lol. like the masks the candles the whole ritual thing... thats not the LS we know. nobody at our local club in manchester is chanting in latin mate. but the bit about how a couple talk about desire and then dont actually say what they mean... that hit hard. the alice monologue in the bedroom is the most honest scene about LS curiosity ive ever seen on film tbh. what did you lot think kubrick nailed vs what was just hollywood nonsense...
