getting dragged into another couple's split and i don't want any of this

so a couple we've been close with for like 5 yrs is splitting up. messy. she's telling my wife everything, he's calling me at 11pm to vent, both of them want us to "see their side" and we honestly love both of them and don't want to pick. but they're both pushing and pushing and now my wife is exhausted from being someone's therapist and i'm dodging calls. how do you stay neutral when both halves of a couple you care about are bleeding all over you. we're not their counsellor, we're their friends... and tbh i'm worried this is gonna mess with OUR marriage cuz we're absorbing all their conflict. anyone been the friend caught in the middle... how'd you get out without losing both of them
