glasgow vs edinburgh first club night... which one is friendlier for nervous newbies

so me and the wife finally booked a hotel weekend up in scotland and we cant decide if we should try glasgow or edinburgh for our first proper club night... weve heard glasgow is rowdier and edinburgh is a bit posher and quieter midweek but honestly im not sure if thats true anymore. we just want somewhere where two nervous 30 somethings wont get stared at like fresh meat the second we walk in. is there a vibe difference or are both fine if you go on the right night?? any tips on which night of the week is best up there...
