hsv outbreak 2 days before a club night... do we cancel or just not play

so we've had this london club night booked for ages, we're both excited, dh has been counting down. i woke up yesterday with the tingle and sure enough by lunchtime there's the start of an outbreak. i've had hsv since my 20s and dh knows, we manage it fine, but we've never had it happen right before a meet. my instinct is cancel because i don't trust myself to keep my hands off everyone even if we say "no play". dh says we can go just to socialise. but also it feels weird to be in that environment and not disclose to people we're chatting to even if we don't touch. anyone navigated this before. what would you do
