husband seconded to dubai for 18 months... do we pause the LS or find some workaround

big career move for him, hes gonna be in dubai til end of next yr. ill stay in london with the kids cos pulling them out of school is a no. we got into the LS about 4 yrs ago and its honestly been one of the best things for our marriage. now were staring down 18 months with him only home for two weeks every couple months and im gutted. dubai isnt exactly LS friendly so hes not gonna find anything there. and i dont wanna play solo cos thats not what our thing is, weve always been a couples-only couple. is it just... pause for 18 months? has anyone done a long pause and come back to it
