i brought fluffy handcuffs to a soft swap and the other couple looked at me like i had three heads
ok so... im 36, my husband's 39, we've been in the LS about two years now mostly through Killing Kittens events in london and a few smaller house parties. very vanilla in the LS sense, soft swap mostly, occasional full with people we've known a while. last weekend we hosted a couple at ours, second time meeting them. drinks, dinner, the usual vibe. before they came over i'd packed a little bag of "fun stuff" cause my husband and i have always done light kink at home, nothing wild, just fluffy cuffs, a silk blindfold, that kinda thing. i thought it'd be a laugh. so we're getting going and i pull out the cuffs all giggly and the wife of the other couple just... froze. like the energy went out of the room. her husband did a weird laugh. i panicked and said "oh just thought it'd be cheeky" and shoved them back in the bag and the moment never quite recovered tbh. now im replaying it like did i misread the vibe completely... like is fluffy cuffs at a soft swap considered crossing into kink territory that they hadn't signed up for. or are they just super vanilla and i should've checked first. the thing is in my head fluffy cuffs are practically a hen do prop they're not even real bondage lol. but clearly to them it wasn't the same. how do you actually bring up "btw we like a bit of light kink" before a meet without it sounding like a whole heavy convo... and is there a polite way to ask people if cuffs/blindfolds are on the table before you whip them out
