is wild camping ls a niche or do most ppl just stay in hotels...

we're proper outdoorsy, wife n i thru-hiked the great walks last summer in nz, weekly hill walks in the lakes, the lot. been ls 4 yrs n every meet we've done has been in cities, hotels, town houses, n it's starting to feel disconnected from who we are... idea is to find a couple to wild camp w, properly, two tents, fire, stars, then... share if it goes there... is this a thing anyone does? we worry abt the logistics, hygiene, n also like, the actual social setup of going from "pass the kindling" to "want to play"... feels potentially magical n potentially awful in equal measure. anyone in scotland or nz tried this
