kid woke up at 1am throwing up, sitter called, how do you bail from a club without making a scene

so this happened to us last weekend and i thought id ask the hive how other ppl have dealt w the "sitter emergency mid-night" thing bc honestly it was chaos and i want a better protocol going forward. F35 dh 37, one kid age 5, sitter is a sensible 30something woman whos been w us 4 months. we were at a club, abt 45 mins drive from home, things were going great, finally felt like we knew the room, met another couple we genuinely vibed with, were on the dance floor abt 12.45am when my phone (in my little bag, on the bench nearby) started buzzing. sitter. kid had been sick twice, fever, scared, wanted mum. i went from full party brain to "where is my car key" in approximately 4 seconds. but then the logistics. we were both 2 drinks in (under the limit for me bc i pace, dh more borderline). i was in heels and a dress that takes 10 mins to get off in a changing room. we had stuff in lockers. wed paid an entry fee. we'd also just exchanged numbers w that other couple and were mid conversation. i basically grabbed dh, said "kid is sick, we have to go RIGHT NOW", and we did the worst exit of all time. didnt say bye to the couple. forgot my coat at the locker (had to drive back the next day for it). dh sobered up in the uber bc i drove. we got home at 2am to a sitter who was holding our kid in the bathroom and looking shellshocked. kid is totally fine btw, stomach bug, was over it by sunday. but the EXIT was so messy and im pretty sure the sitter clocked that we were significantly more "out out" than the "dinner with friends" line implied. how do you build in a protocol for this?? like — one of you stays sober. one of you keeps the keys. clothes you can change in 90 seconds. closer venues. do u just accept that emergencies are gonna look messy and the sitter will figure stuff out??
