literally sexless 8 yrs then we joined a club and everything restarted, how???

wife and i (early 50s now, leeds) were genuinely sexless for almost 8 yrs. like a peck on the cheek goodnight kind of sexless. we love each other to bits we just... stopped. for various reasons mostly her menopause stuff and me losing confidence. last yr a mate confided she and her husband were in the lifestyle and i went home and floated it as a joke. wife thought about it for 2 weeks then said "actually." we went to a couples club in manchester, watched, did nothing, came home and had sex for the first time in EIGHT YEARS. how does that even happen. is this real?? weve had sex more in 6 months than the previous decade combined and not just at clubs at home too. is this going to crash or have we actually unlocked something. im 53 i thought that part of life was over
