mattress protector recs for hosting at home... which brand actually survives

we started hosting a few months back and the first night absolutely destroyed our mattress topper, looked like a crime scene the next morning and i swore id sort it out before the next meet... ive been down the rabbit hole on the green oasis ones, theres a brand called sleep tite that comes up a lot, and the bambi ones in australia look decent but pricey. but tbh i dont trust amazon reviews anymore, half of them are gifted... so im asking the people who actually use them — what brand have you bought, did it crinkle like a nappy under you which would absolutely kill the mood, did it hold up to a wash, and how many do you keep on rotation. spare me the "just use a sheet" advice please...
