mixed politics inside a couple — wife labour hubby tory how do u play

we met another couple recently where the wife is full labour pretty lefty and the hubby is proper old school tory. they joked about it but u could feel the tension. we played anyway and it was fine but i kept thinking how do they negotiate which other couples to play with bc surely their filters are wildly different... anyone else been in or met a mixed-politics couple in the LS and how do u think they manage the partner selection thing...
