mums 70th in brighton and an ex-bull of mine just walked in as a friend of my aunt's... help okay i need to share this before my head explodes. mum's 70th birthday party last saturday in a function room above a pub in brighton. everything lovely. then in walks a guy who i had a thing with about two years ago through the lifestyle, just me, my husband knew about it. turns out he's my aunt's new partner's son. they sat him on the table next to ours. he clocked me, i clocked him, we both went the colour of a beetroot. he was an absolute gentleman, just polite chitchat about brighton and the weather. my husband thought it was hilarious afterwards. but now i'm terrified hes going to be at every family thing forever. how would you play this going forward? pretend we've never met? quietly acknowledge?
