my brothers funeral was the same night as a club event we had tickets for... not the question you think

this is a strange one. my older brother passed suddenly in february, the funeral fell on a saturday we'd had booked for a club anniversary night in leeds for months. obviously we cancelled and went to the funeral, no question. but what i didnt expect is that being in the lifestyle actually helped me grieve afterwards in a weird way... the community around us, the people we've played with who reached out, the closeness with my husband. it felt more honest than some of my "regular" friends who just got awkward. anyone else found the LS community surprisingly supportive during grief? im not asking how to grieve im just genuinely curious if others have had this experience. and how do you talk about it with people who don't even know that part of your life exists?
