non-binary and got told "we're looking for a real woman", how have you responded
venting/asking. enby person (they/them) here, mostly bi-femme presenting, been in the LS as half of a couple for a while. in the last month i've had three separate couples tell me, after weeks of nice chat, some version of "actually we're looking for a real woman", once verbatim. each time it's landed like a kick. i know it's about them not me but the cumulative effect is wearing me down. how have other enby and trans folks responded to that exact line in the moment? blocked, replied, educated, ignored? what felt good after, what didnt? in auckland if local context useful but pretty sure this language is geo-independent unfortunately...
