our regular couple wants to do matching outfits for a club night, is this sweet or are we becoming uniformed

me and the wife (early 40s, leeds, been on the scene about 6 yrs) have a lovely regular couple weve been playing with for nearly 2 yrs now. proper friends honestly. and shes texted me — the wife of the other couple — to suggest we all coordinate outfits for a takeover thats coming up in 6 weeks. like, four matching colour pieces, the two of us in deep red, the two of them in black, the suggestion was to look like a unit when we walk in. on one hand its a sweet gesture. weve genuinely become a foursome that ppl in the local scene recognise, and walking in as a clear unit would be fun. on the other hand i can hear the comments already from a couple of the gobbier blokes at the club — "oh look the team uniform has arrived", "did you get the memo lads", that kind of dad-joke level of slagging. and im not bothered about being slagged but the wife is a bit sensitive about it bc shes had a few cattier women in the scene make comments about us "getting cliquey" with this other couple already. is the coordinated outfit thing a normal thing long term LS quads do and were just newer to it. or is it the kind of move that crosses into "lifestyle costume" territory and actually invites the comments. and if you do it whats the line between "looks pulled together" and "looks like a softball team". curious if anyone has done this and how it landed
