partner made a d&d crit joke mid-play and the other couple were lost... lol ok so we're tabletop ppl, ran a campaign w mates for 6 yrs, n our humour is just baked in geek. found a couple on a brisbane app who seemed compatible, met for drinks great, went back to theirs n it's going well... then my partner rolls off the bed n shouts "natural 20 on dexterity save" n the husband's face just went blank... the wife laughed politely n the vibe just deflated... played thru it fine but the post-play chat was awkward bc we couldnt find common pop culture ref points... is the geek-couple market actually a niche? do we need to find Our People specifically or just stop making references? feels like masking n it's exhausting
