partner of a meet didnt disclose they were trans until at the door, uk legal angle?
this is going to come out wrong no matter how i write it so bear with me. we (m/f couple) had a meet set up in the uk with another couple from one of the main sites, all over messages for weeks. when we met at the venue it became clear pretty quickly that one partner was a trans woman, which had not come up in any of our exchanges. nothing happened, we were polite, we had a drink and went home, no harm done. but i've since seen people online citing english law about disclosure and "deception" and i genuinely dont know what to think. how do trans folks in the uk see this conversation, and how do cis couples like us handle it without being awful? not looking for a fight, looking for a better frame...
