private school teacher in toronto, LS curious, the cultural mismatch is wild

ok so i teach at one of those very traditional private schools in toronto, you know the type, blazers and latin mottos and parents who summer in muskoka. dh and i are mid 30s and started exploring the LS late last yr, mostly online and one hotel meet in montreal. but living in a city this size and working in a community this insular and conservative is doing my head in. like the parents at my school are literally on the boards of half the orgs in this city, the bubble is tiny. ive read that toronto has a decent LS scene but i havent had the nerve to go to anything in person here. has anyone navigated being in education in a major canadian city while also being in the LS? the discretion bar feels so much higher than it would in like vancouver or even ottawa imo, the social circles are so tight...
