same-night swap vs second meet for play... whats actually better for first timers

me and the wife are at 9 months in the lifestyle now and weve been doing the "drinks then play same night" model with everyone weve met. some have gone amazing, some have been awkward and rushed. weve been chatting to a more experienced couple from edinburgh who reckon we should be doing drinks one night and play another night with first meets, basically two separate meets. their reasoning is the first night you can both still bail without it being weird, and the second night nobody has to perform an interview AND have sex. anyone have strong feels on this? feels like a faff but i can see the logic
