single guy at the club who would not take the hint

birmingham club last saturday. me and the missus in the lounge having a drink, single guy parks himself next to us. polite enough at first. we say not tonight thanks just here to socialise. he goes off, comes back. comes back again. brings drinks we didnt ask for. wife says clearly "we're not interested love we're here for couples only". he laughs like its banter, sits down again. third time he comes back i was about to lose it. ended up flagging staff who walked him out. felt like a snitch tbh but he was making her skin crawl. is this just how some clubs are now or did we handle it wrong. been going to clubs since covid lifted, never had it this bad. me 45 her 42
