sitter found a wristband from "you know which resort" in the laundry pile, want to die
pls tell me how to recover from this. F33 dh 35, two kids 4 and 7, sitter is a 26yo woman weve used for about 8 months, she also does some light tidying when the kids nap which is part of why we love her. so we got back from a long weekend at one of those couples-only resorts in cancun (you know the ones, very distinctive bright coloured wristband). we threw our travel clothes in the laundry pile when we got home, i totally forgot the wristband was still on the inside pocket of the shorts i was wearing on the flight home. NEXT WEEKEND sitter comes, does her usual thing, kids nap, she does some folding, and when we get home shes neatly placed the wristband on top of dh's folded shorts on the dresser. with a tiny smile. no comment. no anything. just placed it there. i nearly passed out. those wristbands are not subtle, theyre literally branded with the resort name in massive letters, and that resort is famously THAT KIND of resort. anyone in their 20s who can use google would clock it instantly. dh is acting like its no big deal, shes seen it, oh well, were both consenting adults, lets move on. but i feel SO exposed. like our entire ongoing arrangement w this sitter is built on a polite fiction that we're just a normal couple going on normal trips, and now she has hard evidence we're not. do i address it?? do i say nothing?? do i sack her off and find a new sitter (i really dont want to do this, the kids love her)?? does anyone have a script for "i know you saw the thing, can we just keep doing what were doing". mortified ngl.
