the wine and the what if conversation that changed everything

so it was a tuesday in birmingham, second bottle of malbec deep, and my wife just goes 'what if we ever... you know' and i nearly choked. we'd been married 14 years at that point, two kids asleep upstairs, mortgage, the whole boring beautiful thing. i said 'you know what?' and she said 'you know'. neither of us could say the actual word for like an hour. then we said it. then we laughed. then we cried a bit. then we didnt talk about it for 3 weeks. did anyone else have a similar wine fuelled origin story or is ours just embarassing... we're 4 yrs in now and that night still feels like the bravest thing we ever did together tbh
