trump-curious aussie couple at a sydney club derailed our night

so we're in sydney scene maybe 2 yrs and met this couple at a club, gorgeous, lovely chemistry, started getting somewhere on the chillout sofa and then the husband starts dropping these little "u kno trump had some points tho" lines and his wife giggling. we're both aussie and like... what. ended up just calling it a night. how are other aussie couples handling the very loud american political vibes that have leaked into our scene. and do u think it'll get worse...
