uk vs aussie LS calendar... opposite seasons how do expats compare

so we're brits who moved to sydney 3 yrs ago and the LS calendar flip is still doing my head in. our december here is hot beach bbq energy and january is peak summer LS, totally opposite to UK where dec is the cosy peak and jan is the dead zone. our LS group here is half aussies half expats and the rhythm clash is real... aussies want to party in jan when our brit instincts say hibernate. how do other expat couples navigate the opposite season LS calendar? do u adapt or fight it? im finding it weirdly hard to mentally let dec be "summer fling season" instead of "cosy fire season" even after 3 yrs...
