we agreed to a 6 month trial period... anyone else do this and what happened after

me and the missus sat down with a literal calendar and circled a date 6 months out. 'if either of us hates it by then we stop, no questions, no resentment'. felt very british honestly... very practical very tidy. fast forward to the date and we just... forgot about it for two weeks then remembered and laughed bc neither of us wanted to stop. but i wonder if other ppl actually used their trial period as an off ramp or if its just a comfort blanket we all need at the start. 18 months in now and the calendar lives in a drawer somewhere
