"we are a couple" but the wife was silent the whole meet... met a couple last weekend for drinks in dublin... drinks only, soft swap was on the table if vibes were there. the bloke did literally all the talking. she sat there nursing the same glass of wine for an hour, barely making eye contact, gave one word answers when i asked her stuff directly. he kept jumping in to "translate" her answers... it felt deeply weird. we made an excuse and left after 45 mins. on the way home me and my hubby were like... was she there under duress? or just shy? how do you tell the difference between proper nervous and actually not wanting to be there at all... still bothered by it tbh
