we met our first play couple at a margaret atwood event... ok so this is a wholesome one. me n my wife are book ppl, indie bookshops, podcast subscriptions to the london review, the whole thing. went to a margaret atwood Q&A at a venue in toronto last yr, queued for signed books n got chatting to a couple in line abt the handmaid's n then somehow abt "real-life negotiated arrangements" lol... 3 wks later we were sharing a bottle of wine n discussing rules for play... is bookish ls a Thing? like is there a literary-leaning subscene anywhere or is it just that thoughtful ppl exist everywhere n book events filter for thoughtful ppl... we've been trying to find more couples like them n keep ending up at noisy nightclub meets which is the literal opposite of our vibe
