We watched a couple in their late 60s at our last club night and honestly it was inspiring, change my mind

hot take incoming. me 32, dh 35, in the LS 2 yrs, went to a big club night last saturday. there was a couple in attendance who were clearly the oldest ppl in the room by 15+ yrs, the woman was 69 (she told us) the husband 71. theyd been in the lifestyle since the 80s. they were having the time of their lives. heres the thing — i was prepared to be polite about them. id seen older couples at clubs before and my private reaction had always been a mix of "good for them" and "i hope thats not me at 70". like, mild ick i wasnt proud of. saturday rearranged my brain. they walked in dressed sharp, she had on a green dress that was honestly killer, he had this quiet old-school cool about him. they didnt do the desperate-to-be-seen thing, they didnt do the "we're here to teach you" thing. they got drinks, sat in a corner, watched the room with this look like they'd seen 200 of these nights and were still curious. they ended up chatting to a couple in their 40s for about 90 mins, then disappeared upstairs together, then came back down at like 1am holding hands looking lit up. they left around 2. the inspiring part is what i want to talk about. its not "wow theyre having sex at 70 amazing". its that theyve been doing this for 40 years and are STILL CURIOUS. still picking new ppl, still going out on a saturday, still flirting, still showing up. dh and i talked about it the whole drive home. that is the version of the lifestyle we want at 60+, not the dropping out, not the "we got too old for this", just kept choosing it. is this an unpopular take? do younger ppl in the LS actually find older couples inspiring or am i romanticising what i saw. cnange my mind.
