What the hell do you wear to your first club night, the dress code is making me lose my mind website says "elegant evening wear, smart sexy, NO jeans NO trainers NO sportswear, lingerie permitted inside after 11pm". which is. ok. great. extremely helpful. i (f31) have spent literally six evenings trying on outfits and im no closer to a decision than when i started. heres my problem. if i go too dressy (i have a black floor length dress with a slit) i feel like ill be overdressed and weird. if i go too short (have a hot little red mini) i feel like im trying too hard and ill look thirsty. if i go middle (some cute jumpsuit thing) i look like im going to a leaving do for a colleague. NOTHING is right. shoes is a whole other crisis. heels are sexy but i have to walk across the car park and then stand all night and then maybe go down some stairs and i KNOW from experience that by midnight ill be barefoot and miserable. flats feel wrong for the vibe. wedges are a war crime. somebody help me. bf (m34) has just bought a black shirt and "is going in chinos" and frankly im furious at how easy he has it. am i overthinking this? what do people actually wear? is there a "uniform" you can fall back on if you want to disappear into the crowd rather than stand out? bc honestly for the first night i wanna kinda blend, not be the standout new girl that everyone clocks at the bar.
