which hotel suite layouts actually work for our setup... we keep booking wrong

F38 / M41, ls about 2 years, we travel for play nights about once a month, usually meeting one couple at a hotel halfway between our cities. we keep booking the wrong rooms. we're flexible on same room vs separate so we want options. but every time we end up either with one king bed and nowhere to go (forces same room), or two bedrooms with a paper-thin connecting door (forces awkward separate where you hear everything), or a suite with a living room but no second bedroom which is also same-room by default. i feel like we need a specific kind of layout but i cant find a name for it on hotel booking sites. like a two-bedroom suite where the bedrooms are on opposite sides of a central living room, with real doors and decent walls between. not adjoining rooms with a connecting door. an actual two-bedroom suite. anyone have specific hotel brands or suite types that consistently deliver this. i've heard residence inn for some stuff, embassy suites for others. anyone tried airbnb instead. and for hosting 4-6 ppl is there a sweet spot square footage where same vs separate becomes a real choice not forced by the floor plan
