younger LS couples at the club feel like a different species now and i cant tell if its them or me

old lady yelling at clouds energy, idk. f47 m50, married 22 yrs, LS since 2013. went to our regular club last sat and there was a clear shift this last yr — the median age of the room has dropped HARD. like loads of late 20s / early 30s couples now. and the vibe is just... different. they're on their phones the whole time. they're negotiating in DMs while sitting next to each other at the bar. they take pre-meet selfies in the playroom hallway. they have language ive had to look up ("primary", "kitchen table polyam-y stuff", "RACK") and a whole framework around consent that didnt exist when we started. and i want to be clear — i dont think their way is wrong. some of it is actually GREAT. the consent stuff, the directness, the lack of shame, the not pretending. that part is healthier than how i learned the LS in 2013 when everything was a coded hint and you had to read the room blindly. but i also feel like im at a club where the language has changed and im a foreign tourist. they look at us politely like we're their parents in a swing club, which we technically are old enough to be. they don't come up to us. they don't flirt. we don't flirt with them either bc it feels weird and we'd rather not be the creepy old couple. so we orbit each other all night and play with the other 40-50+ couples and go home. is this just aging in the LS. is this the generational drift everyone says happens. and is there a way to actually bridge it or is it healthier to accept it and find spaces that match our age cohort. asking bc i don't want to be a bitter old swinger who complains about the kids these days, but i also feel a real distance now thats new
